Chorus Tortoise (Fireside Edition)

from Stopgap by Muddy Suzuki

/

lyrics

The Chorus Tortoise stood on his toes
and wondered what to do next.
He had not been able to finish the words
and was feeling terribly vexed.
So he went to see the Middle-Eight Snake
who looked him straight in the eye
and said "my sad-faced, turtle-necked friend,
it should have been obvious why.
Your problem stems from the fact
that you can never come out of your shell,
but knowing what a naked tortoise looks like,
that's probably just as well!"
The Chorus Tortoise wasn't the type
to sit there and be offended,
so he picked up the Middle-Eight Snake and...
The rest of it I can't rememb'rit.
