The Chorus Tortoise stood on his toes and wondered what to do next. He had not been able to finish the words and was feeling terribly vexed. So he went to see the Middle-Eight Snake who looked him straight in the eye and said "my sad-faced, turtle-necked friend, it should have been obvious why. Your problem stems from the fact that you can never come out of your shell, but knowing what a naked tortoise looks like, that's probably just as well!" The Chorus Tortoise wasn't the type to sit there and be offended, so he picked up the Middle-Eight Snake and... The rest of it I can't rememb'rit.

There once was a cobra, a very docile chap. Although his tongue was quite sharp he had heart for his friends. He had aspirations. He also had his flaws. He would write songs that had neither beginning nor ends. "Oh, writing songs is tricky with no hands, making heiroglyphics in the sands. See! I compose a middle-eight for you! Is there nothing more that I should do?" One of Middle's problems: a short attention span. When the winds blew, lost his words, can't remember a thing. He met a musician who put tunes to his words. Middle-Eight Snake was so happy he felt he could sing. "Oh, writing songs is tricky with no hands, making heiroglyphics in the sands. How easier it is to write with you. There is naught the two of us can't do." But Middle had forgot another problem he possessed. Cobras have a deadly shot of blinding venom poisonous. His smile grew so wide he couldn't stop his instinctive side. His teeth were bared, the poison streamed. Middle's partner fell and screamed. The poison struck him face full-on and Middle knew his friend was gone.

After You 06:15
We're waiting for someone to make the first move. You're waiting to see if I make the first move. I'm waiting to see if you think that I'll make the first move. We're waiting, so nothing gets done. You and I don't get along. You and I. I'm searching to see if there's anything left. You're giving impressions that nobody's there. I'm wishing that there was some place I could go, but wishing, it gets you nowhere. I couldn't bring myself to tell you I need your affection. I couldn't bring myself to tell you just how much you mattered. I couldn't bring myself to tell you I burnt all the letters. I couldn't stop myself from burning up all of the letters. I couldn't stop myself from letting you go like the others. Just like the others. We're waiting, so nothing gets done. You and I don't get along. You and I can't get along. That's what I tell myself. You and I.

about

Debut solo album from Damo Waters AKA Muddy Suzuki.

An excursion into eccentric english prog-pop (a bit like wot they did in the early seventies)... songs about imaginary animals vie with odd-meter indie-dancefloor stompers and ambient soundscapes for your listening pleasure.
